Adobe Flex Now In Beta
We released Adobe Flex 2.0 beta today on our Adobe labs website. There are three main parts to the beta: Adobe Flex Builder, Adobe Flex Enterprise Services and Adobe Flash Player 8.5. The Flex Builder tool, to those who aren't familiar with it, is an IDE to create Flash based applications. You can create the applications using Flex Builder, and compile the apps into flash files that you put on your website. Today Adobe also announced that the Flex Builder SDK, which will include the compiler and documentation, will be available for free... So now, anyone will be able to build Flex applications, with cost no longer being a barrier to entry. Those of us who still require the full IDE will be able to purchase Flex Builder 2.0 for less than $1,000 (final pricing yet to be announced).

Simply Scarlett Lipstick USB Key
I'm rather proud of my "In the Pink" USB Key. It's teeny, it's shiny, it looks like a teeny shiny lipstick (although, one complaint, it gets seriously toasty if you leave it plugged in for any length of time). Now, just for you, Digital Era has gone and done a special Simply Scarlett version in time for Valentine's day. It'll cost you £13 for a 128MB model.

The latest design by Guido Ooms, the guy who had previously designed 100% hair hats and ceramic dildos, is a USB memory stick. His aim was to create a USB stick which would be in strong contrast to its normal environment.

The method for dual-booting XP on an Intel Mac posted to Neosmart isn't exactly the most straightforward means we've ever seen of getting an operating system on a machine, but then again neither was shoehorning those OS X dev builds on a PC. Does it work? We can't yet say ourselves, but if anyone wants to go give it a shot and holla back, we'd love to hear if this will get XP running on that new Core Duo iMac of yours.

Clearly denying press reports that Microsoft would not be releasing a Beta 2 edition of Windows Vista, a company spokesperson yesterday told TG Daily that comments made last week by co-president Jim Allchin actually referred to a change in plan, but not a scrapping or skipping of the beta system.
Woize is another VoIP program that offers features similar to Skype and works on the Windows Mobile platform. This beta program can be downloaded here and runs on Smartphones with a minimum speed of 200MHz. Now you can save more by making cheap calls to other cellphones or landlines, while calls made to other Woize users are free. Via MS Mobile News
The CX 200 Portable Director II cellphone jammer is just the tool that should be installed in every sanctuary, cinema and concert hall. Available exclusively in Japan, you can set the CX 200 to perform a complete jam that blankets an entire area up to 70 seconds. The alternative mode is used to end your own calls discreetly without looking for an alibi. Available for $70 a pop, this goodie should not be confined in the Land of the Rising Sun alone, IMHO.
